It may not seem like a North Carolina specific thing, since after all, a dumpster should always be part of any moving process. When you move, no matter how thoroughly you’ve planned and packed or how much you’ve pared down your belongings, there is always going to be a glut of things to throw away at the last minute. This can include unwanted furniture and brick-a-brac, all the waste from the final cleaning of the house, or (most commonly) tons of documents, magazines, and other paper you have no interest in moving with you. At the last minute, it’s all got to go.

If you are leaving an apartment you might not like your landlord. You might want to get back at them in some way, but choose a different way. The person who really pays the price is the person moving in after you. Do them a favor and rent a dumpster. Keep it neat.
